A PIECE or burned toast sparked a fire scare at the Royal Bolton Hospital.
Staff and patients on ward G5, a children's ward, were evacuated at 3pm yesterday.
The toaster failed to pop up and the bread started to burn.
Some of the children were pushed out of the ward in their beds as fire crews arrived.
There was no serious damage to the ward and nobody was injured.
