FIRE chiefs in Bolton are highlighting the importance of fire alarms.
Following a small house fire in Moss Lea, Bolton, on Sunday, where nine people were living in the premises, fire chiefs in Bolton are urging people to undergo a Free Home Fire Risk Assessment.
The assessment will identify potential risks, reduce or prevent them, plan an escape route, and fit a free fire alarm.
Over 100,000 free smoke alarms have already been fitted across Greater Manchester.
Paul Norris, watch commander at Bolton North Fire Station, said: "Anyone wanting a free fire risk assessment should contact their nearest station. The assessment will also highlight the importance of fire alarms and the position in which you fit them."
