LANCASHIRE'S pre-season preparations continued at an encouraging pace with a five-wicket friendly win over Yorkshire at Old Trafford.

The Lightning chased down a Duckworth Lewis reduced target of 190 off 44 overs after the visitors were restricted to 201-7.

Stand-in skipper Glen Chapple lead the way with a brutal 51 not out, after Steven Croft's 42 and an unbeaten 32 from Luke Sutton rescued Lancs from 64-4.

Absent duo Stuart Law and Andrew Flintoff, who was attending the birth of his third child, are expected to play in today's two-day fixture against the same opponents.
