FC Moses Gate and Prince Rupert treated a crowd of more than 100 to a fascinating game in the Billy Derbyshire Division One Cup final at Breightmet's Moss Park.
Moses Gate eventually won 4-2, but it was a game of end-to-end football that was a great advert for the league.
Tim Mataciunas proved the difference, with the Moses Gate striker scoring a hat-trick. His second goal was simply superb, Mataciunas scoring a volley from 30 yards Ryan Mee was also on the scoresheet for the winners, while Ant Greer and Gareth Bowler scored for Rupert.
Things are getting tight in Division Two.
Johnson Fold beat Sam's Bar 2-1, meaning they will finish the season on 41 points. Sam's Bar, with two games left, are on 35 points, while Darcy Lever have come from nowhere to get 35 points with two games left, opening up the possibility of a three way play-off.
Sam's Bar and in-form Darcy Lever are also due to meet in the Simon Clarke Memorial Cup on May, 4.
Three Pigeons beat Gypsys Tent 4-3.
In the Premier Division, Colliers Arms are favourites for the crown, and if they beat Doffcocker this week they are champions.
Colliers beat T&S Northwest 3-0, Doffcocker beat Farnworth Canary 1-0 and Hulton Lane beat Beaumont 8-3 .
