A depleted Astley and Tyldsley outfit were well beaten by Hull at Gin Pit in their Northern League encounter.

Both sides had won their opening encounter, but when A & T, already missing key riders, were rocked by the late withdrawals of Tomasz Szwajorek and Andy Knowles, it was no surprise when the visitors easily took the points, winning 102-76.

Former European Junior Champion, Remi Burchardt, once again raced unbeaten for A and T, with good back-up from Tomasz Wlodarczyk and young Joe Allen.

But, Hull had strength in depth, with all but one of their riders scoring double figures.

A & T fielded a team of youngsters in the Combination League (2nd team) match, with debutant Jason Elliott turning in an excellent performance. However, a much more experienced Hull team ran out winners, 73-45.

Club nights are held every Tuesday evening at Gin Pit, starting at 7pm. Newcomers are always welcome to attend, as A & T look to develop their squad of riders. Bikes and helmets are available for hire, with sessions taken by the Club's qualified coaches. For further details, visit the club's website at www.astleycyclespeed way.org.uk.
