THEY may have been together for less than a year, but Code Zero have already built up an impressive touring schedule, and are planning to release a four-track EP.

Drummer Ste Ward said: "I was in bands for years that didn't work out, but when I met Roger Clarke, our guitarist, at a party we decided there and then to form a band together.

"We rounded up some people we knew, and I reckon we've become a force to reckon with."

The band, who Ste describes as "melodic rock", are playing a charity gig in support of Bolton Hospice on July 26 at Kico Club, on Bradshawgate.

They are also booked to play the SOS festival on July 12, but fans can catch them at Grand Central, in Manchester, tonight.

The EP will be available from Vibe Records, in Bury.
