BUSINESSES are set for upheaval tomorrow(Thursday) as teachers across the North-west go on strike.
Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce has urged employers to work with staff who have school age children, ahead of the strike.
Nigel McFarlane, Greater Manchester Chamber's Local Manager for Bolton, said: "The latest figures show that 650 schools across Greater Manchester will be closed or partially closed this Thursday. Many employees will have children at home that day and may struggle to make alternative childcare arrangements."
He added: "There are a number of options available including paid and unpaid leave. In some cases staff may be able to work from home or take time off through their flexitime systems.
Our main message to business is to not leave it until the day itself but to minimise disruption by planning in advance."
