A CHARITY football match will be held at Egerton FC in memory of Wes Duraman, who died tragically last year.

The event, on Sunday, April 27, will see Egerton FC play Mason Arms (Old Boys) FC at the Eagley FC ground in order to raise money towards providing a lasting tribute to Wes.

The popular 23-year-old died after falling 60 feet into a quarry in Egerton in September 2007.

Wes, a former pupil of Egerton Primary School and Turton High School, had graduated in media production at Lincoln University a week before his death and was looking forward to becoming a voluntary presenter with community radio station Bolton FM.

A raffle at the match will also raise cash with prizes including a football signed by members of the Bolton Wanderers team, a three course meal at the Thomas Egerton hotel and a barrel of beer.

Gates open at 1pm, and kick off is at 2pm.

After the match, local singer-songwriter Andrea Glass will play at the Mason's Arms, on Blackburn Road, at 8pm to continue the fundraising day.

Andrea, who describes her music as "Americana soaked in Bolton rain", released her album Stood Under Stars at the beginning of the year.
