THE pressure is starting to get to Reading and Birmingham City in a fight for Premiership survival that has been blown wide open by Wanderers' mini revival.

Rival managers, Steve Coppell and Alex McLeish, are feeling the heat as games run out and their teams buckle under the pressure applied by two wins in a row for Gary Megson's Reebok men.

Coppell admits he is still struggling to decide what is his best side, while McLeish is desperately trying to shore up confidence after Sunday's 5-1 humiliation at the hands of derby rivals, Aston Villa.

There have been signs of desperation at the Madejski Stadium and St Andrews.

Coppell said: "I've got a squad of 20-odd players, and if you ask me my best 11 then right now I don't know."

McLeish said: "We work on things but I can't turn the defenders into world-class defenders."
