A PEDESTRIAN who was knocked down by a car in Bolton town centre is now in a stable condition.
The 20-year-old man was walking on the pavement in Knowsley Street on Tuesday when he was knocked down by a car driven by woman in her 80s.
He was taken to the Royal Bolton hospital with head injuries.
After undergoing X-rays, his condition was described as "serious but not life-threatening".
Witnesses say the woman was driving a Suzuki Grand Vitara 4x4 along the busy street at 2.25pm when there was a collision with another vehicle before she hit the man, who was on the pavement, and then crashed into the Poundstretcher store.
The woman, who is also being treated at the Royal Bolton Hospital, has a broken wrist and cuts.
Police say witnesses should call 0161 8567202.
