A teacher has returned to England from Asia to take up a head teacher position at Bolton School.
Mr Steve King is the new head of the Junior Boys’ School, otherwise known as Park Road at Bolton School.
Mr King joins the school from Garden International School in Kuala Lumpur where he led Key Stage 2 (aged eight to 10) students for seven years.
Prior to that, he spent nine years at The British International School, Shanghai, another large international school, where he enjoyed several roles of responsibility, moving from English lead to deputy head and then head of junior school.
Reflecting on his first two weeks at Park Road, Mr King said: “The school has been what I expected in that it is a really vibrant and busy environment with quality teaching and high expectations of the students’ behaviour and conduct.
“I have been most impressed by how articulate the boys are and how comfortable they are talking with adults.

“My favourite part of the day is having lunch with the boys and finding out more about them as individuals.
"They are incredibly inquisitive and enthusiastic in conversation.”
Head of primary division, Mrs Sue Faulkner, was delighted to welcome Mr King to Bolton School.
