A micro arcade game bar has opened to bring something different to the town.

Leon Pimbley opened the 8 Bit Micro Arcade Bar, a fun arcade and games centre for families by day and a bar at night for adults with a big launch this month.

Located in Horwich, the gaming bar is for young and old children to try all sorts of retro games but turns into a bar for adults come evening.

Leon said: “We are excited, nervous and overwhelmed.

“It has been a longer than expected journey but like any new business you always come across problems along the way.

“So, we were super excited for our official opening  day.

“We've had plenty bookings so far from families excited to join us.

The business also has had a booking for a private function.

The arcade bar originally planned to be open much sooner but ran into a few problems.

Leon said: “Me and my girlfriend Katherine have done most of the jobs ourselves along with the help of a very good landlord.

“We would finish work on our day jobs and come here straight after work trying to get it complete, sometimes not leaving here till midnight and at that time it's not like we could nip to the local B&Q for anything we need.

“As well as juggling a family and also time for ourselves, it's been a hard journey but we are here now and the new chapter in our life begins.

“This is where the real graft begins. We did a soft opening  to see how things will run and it was fantastic, the feedback was brilliant from everyone who came.”
