A poet is set to read from her new critically acclaimed novel at Bolton Central Library in a free event.

Clare Pollard, from Bolton, who is also a playwright and editor, will be reading from her book, Delphi, at the library on Tuesday, October 4 from 6pm to 7.30pm.

The reading will be part of a new season of live literature events at the library, in partnership with the Creative Writing department at The University of Bolton.

Clare, who has writing poetry on plays for more than 20 years, will be talking to creative writing lecturer Valerie O’Riordan about her new work.

The novel has been hailed in The Guardian as “a sharp debut novel that uses the pandemic and ancient myths to cast a philosophical eye on how we live".

Entry is free and there is no need to book and everyone is welcome to attend.
