A man was arrested on Friday evening after a ‘quantity of drugs’ were allegedly found in his car.

The man was stopped while driving near Deakins Mill Way, Egerton on Friday evening after police officers on patrol claim that they had seen him ‘acting suspiciously.’

On stopping the car, the officers from GMP Bolton North began a search of the car and after allegedly finding drugs on board arrested the man while also seizing his car.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: “Neighbourhood Officers engaged on this evening's OP have just stopped a car acting suspiciously near Deakins Mill, Egerton.

“The vehicle was searched and a quantity of drugs found onboard."

The man was taken into custody and his car impounded

Greater Manchester Police have not as yet released further details about the man who was arrested or about the variety of drugs they say was found on board the car he had been driving.
