A ‘rocket’ firework has been recovered by Bolton police following reports that youths were lighting fireworks.
After several reports of youths igniting fireworks, Bolton police have recovered a 'rocket' and detained a man.
Police were called to Farnworth Town Centre last night following reports of youths setting off fireworks.
Neighbourhood PCSOs detained one male and recovered a large rocket.
Police say they will be safely disposing of the firework and have warned others of the risks involved in lighting fireworks in a public place.
A spokesperson for Bolton North said: “Following reports of several youths setting off large fireworks in Farnworth Town Centre last night the Farnworth Neighbourhood PCSO detained one male and recovered a large rocket which will be disposed of by us safely.
“Please be aware of the rules and the dangers of setting off any fireworks in a public place.”
Throughout the weekend police have been running an operation to crackdown on anti-social behaviour, including dispersing youths from Harwood for the same reason.
