Flowers have been laid in tribute to a man who died in a crash in Bolton at the weekend.

The man, in his 30s, was a passenger in a Nissan which crashed into two parked vehicles.

The driver sustained serious injuries and has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

The vehicle had failed to stop for police in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Now flowers have been placed at the scene of the scene paying tribute to the man who died.

One of the tributes said: "To our beautiful Simon Edward Bailey."

The horror crash happened on Sunday morning on Lever Edge Lane, Great Lever,

The victim was a front seat passenger.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “The man was a front seat passenger in a Nissan that failed to stop for police on Lever Edge Lane, Bolton shortly after 2am yesterday morning, Sunday 2 October, that then crashed into two parked vehicles. 

“A woman in her 30s who was also a passenger the vehicle, remains in hospital with serious injuries that are not thought to be life-threatening.

“The driver of the vehicle has been arrested for causing death by dangerous driving and remains in hospital with serious injuries. 

“In line with standard procedure the incident has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.

The area was cordoned off all Sunday morning as investigation into the crash took place.
