People across Bolton are being invited to come and light candles at Royal Bolton Hospital to remember the lives of babies who sadly died too soon.
Each year on October 15, the ‘Wave of Light’ event sees families across the world take part to mark the end of Baby Loss Awareness Week.
In Bolton, people will gather in the Baby Memorial Garden from 6.45pm on Saturday October 15, before lighting a candle at 7pm with a short service featuring music and poems.
Battery lit candles will be provided which can be left to glow in the garden, in a poignant tribute to all the babies who shined brightly in people’s lives.
Catherine Binns, Deputy Head Chaplain at Bolton NHS Foundation Trust, said: "This is a special evening for our families to come together with others who are also sadly experiencing loss to be there for one another.
“The Baby Memorial Garden is really important as some families have plaques there, so this provides a safe space to remember the babies and keep them close in our hearts.
“As a Trust we’re working with Sands, the Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity, to make sure we can provide the right support if families need it."

The Baby Memorial Garden is open throughout the year and features plaques which can be engraved and installed for a minimum donation of £25 to the Our Bolton NHS Charity.
