Bolton's Paddy McGuinness will be back on primetime television with the second series of his bonkers competition.

I Can See Your Voice is back next Saturday following its huge success.

Once again, Paddy, who also fronts Top Gear, takes charge of the proceedings as members of the public mime along to various songs – the celebrity panel then has to help two contestants guess if it’s their real voice, or if they’re faking it.

The idea is to find a good singer, and if they do, they stand to win £10k.

Jimmy Carr, Alison Hammond and Amanda Holden are the regular panelists, and they’ll be joined in the first edition by former Spandau Ballet star Tony Hadley.

The commission comes following the series' ratings success, which has seen an average of 3.8m across the first six episodes, with a 22 percent share and a peak of 5.1m viewers.

Kate Phillips, controller entertainment commissioning for the BBC, says: “We are so pleased that I Can See Your Voice will be returning. I know viewers have really enjoyed playing along with our very funny, frank panel, as we all hold our breaths for those memorable moments when a great or gruesome singer starts belting out a banger."

Paddy himself is a fan of Saturday night TV, particularly Strictly. This weekend he was bowled over by Tony Adams performance.

Full Monty stars spotted in Bolton

This week was movie week and Tony with his dance partner were inspired by The Full Monty - a film he was name checked in.

Paddy took to Twitter posting: "Only just caught up with last night's BBC Strictly. Give this man the trophy.

"What a way to start a Sunday. Epic."

Tony stripped down to a pair of glittery red football shorts and pink socks as he danced the samba to You Sexy Thing from The Full Monty on Strictly Come Dancing.

The former England footballer and his professional partner Katya Jones “brought the roof down” at the Strictly studio as the audience cheered and clapped, co-host Tess Daly said.

Motsi Mabuse said: “Let me watch it again please! Samba is maybe something else but entertainment value it has to be a 10.”

Shirley Ballas said: “You do have a good pelvic roll – I love the glitterball underwear, you entertained, but it wasn’t exactly a samba.”

Anton Du Beke said: “I reckon if I was still a professional dancer I’d be with you. It’s everything Strictly Come Dancing is and you are amazing, well done.”

Craig Revel-Horwood added: “Oh Em Gee.”
