A robber has confessed to stealing a woman’s handbag and carrying a knife in Bolton.

Vladimir Dikovski, 29 of Vickerman Street, was brought to Bolton Crown Court where he admitted to stealing the bag on September 10 this year and to carrying a knife on Quay Street that same day.

He is now set to learn his fate at a later date.

Dikovski was charged with robbery and possession of a bladed article in a public place.

Judge Tom Gilbart said: “As you will have been advised these are serious matters and immediate custody will be at the forefront of the court’s mind.”

He added: “No decision has yet been made and the fact that I’m adjourning this matter is no indication of what the sentence will be.”

Gavin Howie, prosecuting, said that the case was a ‘straightforward matter’ and that he or a colleague would be ready to take on the sentencing whenever the court was ready.

Ellie Asghar, defending, said that Dikovski was of previous good character and that she would be applying for a report on him from probation services before the sentencing.

Judge Gilbart agreed that he would allow time for a report before the sentencing takes place.

Dikovski, who appeared via video link from Forest Bank prison will find out the sentence in store when he is brought back before the court on November 7.
