A Bolton man has escaped a ban from the roads for going more than 20mph over the speed limit because of "mitigating circumstances."
Jordan Brown went at 61mph on the M62 between junction 11 and 12 in February this year.
Brown was driving a Vauxhall Movano during the incident.
The road had a 40mph speed limit at the time.
Brown, 28 and from St Helens Road, Bolton, admitted the offence at Manchester Magistrates Court.
He was due a totting up disqualification from the roads, however he avoided this due to mitigating circumstances.
These included that he was a self-employed engineer who travels nationwide, he would not be able to work without his vehicle and he transports children to school.
As his jobs involved taking heavy equipment it was agreed public transport was not appropriate.
