A power cut is set to hit more than 70 homes across 12 Bolton postcodes next week.

According to Electricity North West, the cut is set to come into effect on Wednesday, October 26 and will hit up to 76 homes and businesses across the BL7 0BS, BL7 0BX, BL7 0BU, BL7 0BR, BL7 0BT, BL7 0AY, BL7 0AX, BL7 0AR, BL7 0AT, BL7 0QG, BL7 0DU and BL7 0ED postcodes around Edgworth and Turton.

The utility company says that this is to ensure that its engineers can safely complete maintenance works on power cables.

An Electricity North West statement said: “We appreciate your patience while our engineers carry out a planned power cut in your area, this is to improve the reliability of your electricity supply and so our engineers can safely work on the cables that provide electricity to your home or business.”

The company says that once work has begun on the power cables, they will work to ensure that electricity will be restored as soon as possible.

Electricity North West regularly plans power cuts around the region in order to allow its engineers to carry out maintenance works.

Households and businesses are warned ahead of time on the company’s website.

Engineers are also regularly deployed to tackle unplanned power cuts.
