Traffic police say they have caught nearly 600 speeders in the space of a week.
Traffic PCSOs have been stations throughout Greater Manchester this week, catching 587 drivers going over the speed limit.
This has encouraged Greater Manchester Police Traffic to provide a warning to motorist to slow down.
A spokesperson said: "This week has seen the Traffic PCSO unit continue with speed enforcement, resulting in 587 drivers caught speeding.
"The highest speed was 53mph in a 30mph.
"Stopping distances can double in wet conditions. Slow down and keep your driving licence.
"Officers from various units are out daily, enforcing the speed limits in Greater Manchester, even weekends.
"Check your speedo, know the limits, assume lamp posts mean 30 mph until signs say otherwise.
"Speed limits are a maximum, not a target."
