More than 60 residents across Bolton will be impacted by power cuts from today and throughout next week, Electrcity North West has warned.

Today, 13 homes and businesses will be hit with power cuts across BL6 6SJ and BL6 6SH postcodes in Horwich.

And from November 2, 48 homes and businesses will be without electricity supply as planned power cuts are in place.

These power cuts will affect the following postcodes in Bromley Cross: BL7 9TS, BL7 9PU, BL7 9PR, BL1 8HJ, BL7 9PS, BL7 9RA, BL7 9QE, BL7 9PT and BL7 9PP.

The utility company says that the cuts are made so engineers can safely work on the cables that provide electricity to homes and businesses.

An Electricity North West spokesperson said: “We appreciate your patience while our engineers carry out a planned power cut in your area, this is to improve the reliability of your electricity supply and so our engineers can safely work on the cables that provide electricity to your home or business.”

The company says that once work has begun on the power cables, they will work to ensure that electricity will be restored as soon as possible.

Electricity North West regularly plans power cuts around the region in order to allow its engineers to carry out maintenance works.

Households and businesses are warned ahead of time on the company’s website.

Engineers are also regularly deployed to tackle unplanned power cuts.
