Motorbiking pals from Bolton have set up an all woman bikers' group.

Biker Birds of Bolton has been created by Leoni Warren, 24, from Farnworth and close friend Lauren Chadwick, 27, as a social group going on motorbike rides , sharing advice and raising money for charity.

Leoni said: "We decided to set up the group because for the last couple of years I have had a scooter but recently I bought a manual bike, so me and my good friend out of the blue decided to set it up.

"I have been in a group before but it was mostly male based so I decided I wanted a female only bike group and I asked my friend what the name could be and she automatically said the name should be 'Biker Birds of Bolton'.

"So the group isn't just for everyone meeting up and going on rides it's also for getting to meet new people, offering support if anything was to happen with the bikes, even buying and selling and creating charity rides and days out.

"We would love to do charity rides.

The Bolton News:

"The ones I have done previously have been the Red Roseand an NHS one and we did a Christmas ride too where we travelled from our meet up to Bolton Hospital where we donated prsents and gave them to children who are staying there over the holidays

"There is so much we can do but we need people to join."

The bikers group will be a weekly meet up allowing people to have a drink, gather and have a good time at the same time as combatting loneliness.

Leoni said: "Once we have a few members we will decide on a meet-up spot and it will just be like a get together - have a drink, coffee or breakfast and then it will just be like let's get on the bikes and go somewhere.

"We are doing the group to also help combat loneliness and to make friends, and to also offer support for bikers who need it."
