Great British Bake-off star Mak Patel will be staging a cookery demonstration at a 'cost-of-living' drop-in session taking place today.
Held at the Albert Halls, Bolton residents are urged to take advantage of free money-saving advice at the event
From 9.30am to 1.30pm, The Albert Halls will host the first of two sessions offering guidance to visitors on ways to make food, fuel and money go further.
Dozens of local organisations will be on hand to provide tips on budgeting, energy advice, financial guidance and even cooking demonstrations.
Mak, who does a twice monthly column for The Bolton News, said he will be showcasing recipes which do not cost much to create at home.
He said "Cooking at home is far more exciting and nutritious that going to the take-away. I will be demonstrating a popular menu item you can easily make at home."
The demonstration starts at 11am.
A second session will be held on Wednesday, November 9 from 9.30am to 1.30pm.
Anyone unable to attend either day, can also access support and advice on the council’s dedicated cost of living website.
