Peter Kay made a  jibe at Matt Hancock as he thanked  fans for their support of his latest tour as thousands flocked to buy tickets today.

In a recent statement on Twitter, the Bolton born comedian thanked his fans for their support whilst making a dig at the former health secretary, calling him a 'proper b***-end'.

The icon had tickets on sale today for his 'Better Late Than Never' tour with almost half a million people queueing to grab tickets.

They were in so much demand that the comedian added extra dates to the calendar so more people could grab tickets.

Peter, who is returning to the stage for his first tour in 12 years, took to social media and thanked his fans.

He said: "THANK YOU!! Absolutely blown away by the ticket sales so far, especially as some of the shows aren't for a good while yet but don't worry we'll have a laugh when we're all together.

"Much love, Peter.

"P.S Matt Hancock IS a proper b***-end."

The comedian took the opportunity to have a dig at the ITV I'm a Celebrity contestant Matt Hancock.

The controversial former Health Secretary, who stepped down in June 2021 after being caught having an affair during lockdown, has been recieving some criticism for being on the popular TV show.

In the comments of the tweet, people are asking Kay to add even more dates to the tour which is already going into 2024 due to demand.

One said: "More Glasgow please."

Whilst another said: "Can we please get another date for Glasgow? My dad is gutted we didn’t get tickets."
