A FUNDRAISING event is to be held in the memory of a local sportsman who died tragically while on holiday.
Michael Williams from Edgworth died in 1994 at the age of 24 in an accident in Spain.
But his memory and his love of sport has lived on in a trust set up in his name by his father Eddie Williams.
The trust has benefited many organisations dedicated to helping children take part in activities, particularly sport.
On July 12, a fundraiser will be held to boost funds for the trust at the Delph Sailing Club in Longworth Road, Egerton.
The highlight of the evening will be live music by Jerriatric Jazz. Tickets cost £10 and include a supper.
Band member Fred Shawcross said: "It really is a fabulous event in a superb location for a very good cause."
