Drivers have been urged to be cautious on a major road through Bolton town centre and other near Bolton Wanderers’ ground.

This comes with traffic lights reported to have been damaged on Bradshawgate at the junction with Great Moor Street and at the Burnden Way car park entrance at the University of Bolton Stadium in Horwich.

According to Transport for Greater Manchester, this comes amid signal failures at various locations across the city region.

A statement from TfGM said: “Traffic lights damaged at Bolton at Bradshawgate/Great Moor Street,

Rochdale at Manchester Road/Dane Street/St Marys Gate/The Esplanade, Horwich at the University of Bolton Stadium, Burnden Way/Car Park Entrance.

“Approach with caution until engineers can repair.”

Drivers at the Bolton locations and those who may be travelling out across Greater Manchester have been advised by the transport authority to keep the locations of the damaged traffic lights in mind especially at times when the roads are likely to be busy.

They can avoid risks by staying alert, watching out for other cars and pedestrians as well as reducing speed.

Transport for Greater Manchester periodically sends out updates about the status of the roads across Bolton and the rest of the city region on its social media channels.
