Police have seized two vehicles in Breightmet after complaints about motorists driving in an anti-social manner on residential estates.

GMP Bolton North neighbourhood officers said following concerns by residents they will seize vehicles and prosecute offenders.

A motorbike suspected of being on false plates was seized and a car believe to be stolen was taken away.

A spokesman for the neighbourhood team said: "In response to complaints about vehicles being driven in an anti-social manner around Breightmet, the North Neighbourhood team have been actively seeking to seize the vehicles involved and bring offenders to justice where possible."

He said the motorbike 'bearing false plates' was seized on Glaister lane and a Citroen was taken away from Crossdale Road which is believed to be stolen.

Operation Portman is currently running in Bolton to crackdown on the number of road traffic collisions.

As part of the operation, police regularly conduct roadside speed checks.
