A concert band from Bolton School has received two awards as the flew through the regional heats of a national music competition.
Bolton School’s Concert Band took part in the regional heats of the National Concert Band Festival last weekend.
Following their performance, the group was presented with a "Gold Award".
The band were also invited back to the national round of the festival, and they will return to the competition’s stage in April next year.
There was even a special mention for one particular section of the band, as an additional award was handed to the percussionists which recognised the contribution they made to the music.
Conductor Miss Hannah Sherry said: “Congratulations to all those musicians and very well done to the music department.”
