Police arrested a man and seized a 4x4 vehicle after a raid at the travellers site in Moses Gate.
Officers shared the progress of the raid in a series of posts on social media on Wednesday.
One post showed at least two police cars and two police vans at Crompton Lodge Caravan Park off Hall Lane.
Then later the same day, two other posts confirmed the outcome of the action.
Officers arrested a man who was wanted on suspicion of an offence, although this was not specified.
They also seized a 4x4 which was believed to be involved in an offence, but this was not specified.
Crompton Lodge Caravan Park is a travellers site where an agreement allows it to accommodate up to 26 families.
It has been raided a number of times over the years, with several vehicles seized last year.
