Police officers turn out in force to the streets of Bolton as part of an organised operation to target crime.

Numerous Greater Manchester Police (GMP) officers descended on Little Lever today, Wednesday, following reports of antisocial behaviour in the area.

"Today, December 7, they were out in force patrolling the Little Lever area in Bolton after the local community raised concerns of anti-social behaviour in the area.

"Members from Bolton Council also turned out in support and attended the street briefing that took place in the Little Lever Tesco car park.

"It's hoped these highly visible patrols by the VRU unit will be a reassuring presence to the public and enable officers to actively target offenders helping to reduce anti-social behaviour in the area.

"The unit is also particularly focused on more serious types of violent crime including knife crime.
