Residents will have until this weekend to have their say on proposals for 115 new homes in Breightmet.

Plans were launched by Morris Homes for the site off Radcliffe Road more than a year ago which is used for caravan storage and as a pony paddock.

The plans were first launched in October of last year.

And the deadline for the neighbourhood consultation date is on Sunday, December 11.

The original planning application stated: “The proposed scheme consists of 115 homes, along with new wildlife ponds, sustainable urban drainage ponds, trees, hedgerows and cycle and pedestrian paths.

“The homes will be a mix of one to two bedroom, two storey dwellings, in the form of mews, semi-detached and detached types.”

Developers also claimed there would be an emphasis on trees in the plans.

They said: “An extensive tree survey has been produced and the findings have been incorporated into the development layout, with good quality trees being accommodated within the scheme and retained where possible.

“Trees that will have to be removed to accommodate the development will be replaced and a detailed Landscape Plan indicates the proposed replacement tree types and positions.”

Bolton Community Homes said affordable homes on the brownfield site should be 15 per cent, which would amount to 17 units, and wanted to work with the developer to secure this.

The public right of way team say public routes leading through this site and would be affected by it.

They also suggested the site plan did not indicate these properly and said: “It is important that any potential public rights of way on or adjacent the development are identified and considered at an early stage in the development process.”
