A woman has admitted to threatening behaviour and carrying an axe in a public place.

Jade Moyse, 31, had been carrying the axe on Nottingham Drive, Bolton on September 7 last year.

Brought before Bolton Crown Court this week, she was told she would learn her fate at a later date after reports about her have been completed by psychiatric and probation services.

Judge Tom Gilbart said: “The fact that I am adjourning this case for those reports doesn’t mean the court is going to choose anything in particular with regard to sentencing.

“All options are open before the court; these are serious matters.”

Daniel Caulder, prosecuting told the court that Moyse, of East Street, Bolton, had been charged with possession of an offensive weapon and with threatening unlawful violence after the events of September 2021.

She pleaded guilty to both charges.

But Harriet Lavin, defending, told the court that Moyse suffered from serious difficulties and that there were concerns about her mental health.

Judge Gilbart agreed that reports about Moyse’s mental health and about her situation with probation services would help the court to decide on a proper sentence.

He ordered Moyse to come back before the court for a final sentencing hearing on February 27 next year.
