A police investigation is underway after a man was badly in a crash at a busy junction while walking his dog.

The man, in his 60s, had been out with his dog at around 7.30pm last Tuesday evening near the junction of Gordon Street with Great Clowes Street in Salford when a car collided with him.

Police and paramedics were called and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries, while the driver remained at the scene.

A Greater Manchester Police (GMP) spokesperson said: “At around 7.30pm on Tuesday, December 13 2022, a man in his 60s was walking with his dog near the junction of Gordon Street on Great Clowes Street in Salford .

“A car collided with the man as he was walking near the junction.

“Emergency services attended the scene, and the man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver remained at scene and is assisting officers with enquiries.

“No arrests have been made.

“GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward.

“They are also keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage, including dashcam, mobile phone footage from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.”
