Supermarket workers are celebrating a milestone.

Four Aldi colleagues in Bolton mark a combined 115 years of service this month.

All based at the supermarket’s regional office and distribution centre in Bolton, Michelle Nugent, Dave Cartwright and Ian Blackwood all joined the company 30 years ago, while Andy Jackson is marking 25 years.

All four colleagues are said to have gone above and beyond in their roles during their time at Aldi, getting stuck into charity events from fancy dress to vehicle washes, and going out of their way to help to support their teams.

Michelle, a finance and admin assistant, said: “I remember when I first started working for Aldi as a warehouse selector back in 1992 and we would read orders off pieces of paper. Fast forward to now and all our warehouse selectors have bluetooth headsets. It’s been brilliant to see the business grow, both in size and efficiencies.”

On his fondest memories, delivery driver Andy said: “It’s always really rewarding being able to be part of Aldi’s journey. I have seen the company change so much over the years and is amazing to see that it’s now the UK’s fourth largest supermarket!”

Ruth Doyle, regional managing director at Aldi UK said: “Without the hard work and dedication of our colleagues, we wouldn’t be able to provide customers with the excellent and efficient service we’ve become known for.

“Colleagues like Michelle, Dave, Ian and Andy are the cornerstone of our business and I thank them for their continued dedication to the company.”
