A man who was in the UK illegally is facing deportation after being caught attempting to break into a business in Tyldesley.

Bolton Crown Court heard Adrian Abraham targeted MSS Products last month as part of a group.

Police were informed in the evening that the security system at the company had been triggered.

Two police officers attended and saw two men.

Abraham was apprehended and found with an angle grinder.

The group had attempted to enter a fire door.

Stella Hayden, prosecuting, said: “The cost of the repair was £1,300.

“The defendant was interviewed, he answered on a limited basis but when asked about the incident answered no comment.”

Abraham, from Ashburnham Road, Luton but originally from Romania, appeared in court to be sentenced after admitting attempted burglary.

Colin Buckle, defending, said he had no previous convictions recorded against him and had pleaded guilty to the offence.

He added that as he was in the country illegally he faced deportation.

The Honorary Recorder of Bolton, Judge Martin Walsh said: “I am told you are in unlawfully in the UK.

“You are 27 with no previous convictions.

“At the end of your sentence in custody you are likely to be deported back to Romania.

“I give you credit for your guilty plea.”

He jailed him for 20 weeks.
