A mindful yoga session for women going through menopause is set to take place in February.

It will be held on Saturday, February 4 from 2pm-6pm at Rivington One Studios in Horwich and will cover the theme, "Crossing the Menopause Bridge".

The class will provide a women's circle and safe space where people can share their experiences during discussions around common menopausal challenges and suitable yogic responses.

The menopause sessions are offered to support women though this time with restorative yoga practices, gentle somatic movement and breathing techniques.

The emphasis of the day will be a calm, restful and rejuvenating practice, including yoga nidra, restorative postures, and a heart-based mediation to promote a healthy menopause.

No prior yoga experience is needed, as there will be someone guiding people carefully through the practices.

In March there will be a cooling hot flushes and night sweats session, followed by a mood swings and irritability session in April.

There will also be two other sessions in May and June.

Each month a different theme will be explored.
