A multi-vehicle crash has caused traffic to come to a standstill on a busy section of the M62 motorway close to the turn off to Bolton.
Rush-hour traffic going in and out of Bolton may well be affected by the collision which has stopped traffic on the M62 westbound between junction 12, Eccles, and junction 11, Warrington.
A spokesperson for National Highways North West said: "Traffic stopped on the M62 westbound following a multi vehicle collision between J12 (Eccles) and J11 (Warrington).
"North West Motorway Police and Highways North West Traffic Officers are on the scene.
"Delays of up to an hour. Approximately six miles of congestion.
