A man has been arrested and a car has been seized following a police pursuit in Rumworth.

The Rumworth Neighbourhood team were on patrol at the time in ‘hot spot locations’ when a driver drove off.

Officers then located the vehicle which had been abandoned and made an arrest.

A spokesperson for GMP Bolton South said: “The Rumworth Neighbourhood team were targeting hot spot locations when a vehicle made off from officers.

“Following a pursuit, officers found the vehicle abandoned, this resulted in the vehicle being seized and one male arrested.”

It was only on Monday this week when an abandoned vehicle was recovered and taken to the rightful owner, after it was identified as stolen.

If anyone notices any suspicious activity in their area it can be reported anonymously via CrimeStoppers Independent UK charity, which can take crime information anonymously (https://orlo.uk/zrLYE).
