A town centre restaurant is thanking its customers for continued support as they enter a ‘difficult time’.

Tapaz Restaurant and Bar also announced it would be focussing a lot more on live music and themed nights for the new year.

A spokesman for Tapaz posted the statement on Facebook, it read: “We’re going into 2023 knowing it’s going to be a difficult time for business, and for that reason we’d like to thank our amazing community for you continued support.

“We want to continue bringing you the experience that you deserve, that you can relax, wind down and spend time with loved ones while enjoying great food.

“We honour your feedback, and this year would like to focus on entertainment and what tribute bands, themed nights and singers we can book for you to enjoy.

“Please take this time to let us know what or who you’d like to see us bring into the restaurant this year.”

The restaurant was burgled in December 2021.

The bar, on Bradshawgate, was targeted in the early hours with burglars smashing windows, damaging the inside and making off with cash.

Mr Silva said that around £1,000 in cash was taken, while the burglary also cost the restaurant more due to the damage caused and the impact that the disruption had on trade.

Pictures from the scene showed the extent of the damage caused by the thieves, with one image showing that a burglar had been armed with a crowbar.

The shocking incident had rocked Mr Silva at the time.

He said at the time: “We are in a really hard situation because this Christmas has been okay but not great because of coronavirus and this makes us have to take a step back.
