Bolton Library and Museum Service is hosting a range of events to celebrate National Storytelling week.

The fun begins on Saturday, January 28 between 11am and 3pm with a pop-up storytelling, crafts, and trail themed around some of the nation's favourite stories at Bolton Museum.

On Sunday, January 29 between 11am and 2pm, Bolton Central Library at Crompton Place hosts its storyteller's favourite fun stories.

Both these events are free and there is no need to book a place.

There is also a tour of Smithills Hall on Thursday, February 2 at 7pm.

A spokesperson said: "Celebrate National Storytelling Week with this fascinating tour packed with stories that give you an insight to the history and ghosts of the hall. 

Tickets cost £10 and the tour is suitable for people aged 16 and over.

Finally, on Friday, February 3 at 11:30am there is a special 'Toddler Tales' at the Octagon - 'The Great Balloon Hullabaloo'.

There will also be an art and crafts session after the story time with tea and cake.

This event is also free to drop in.
