A family music festival is returning after a successful event last year.

Atherton Live Family Music Festival is scheduled to take place at Atherton Cricket Club on Saturday, July 15.

The annual event raises funds for the community-led club, which has suffered from the likes of vandalism and theft over the years.

And being a registered charity, the club relies on events such as the festival to continue to operate and provide opportunities within cricket for its local community.

Headlining the event will be a dance DJ set courtesy of Phats & Small, who reached number one in the UK Dance Charts in 1999 with their classic ‘Turn Around’.

Black Lace, of Agadoo fame, is also part of the line up.

Black Lace has sold over 8 million records worldwide and spent over 86 weeks in the UK Charts.

Captain Dan Tastic, an experienced pirate entertainer, will be performing for the younger ones with lots of fun, games and magic. Children are being encouraged to dress up to be in with a chance of winning a prize.

There’s a tribute act to pop music royalty, Almost Pink, who is described as “one of the most accurate portrayal to the queen of pop herself”.

Girlz World will be performing their a ‘Diva Show’, celebrating contemporary pop artists including Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and Katie Perry

And the live band for this year will be the Nolan Band fronted by Shane Nolan, son of Shane Richie and Coleen Nolan. They will be performing songs from the 70’s right up to the present day.

A club spokesperson said: “The idea of Atherton Live is to ensure that the entire family, no matter their age, has the most incredible time at the greatest show.

“Aside from being a great chance to soak up the sunshine with all the family, this particular music festival caters to a wide range of tastes with performances from hit movies and musicals, as well as tribute acts all the way through to established and hugely successful headliners.”

On top of the music and entertainment, there will also be a fairground and artisan stalls.
