Work to resurface a stretch of a busy road has been earmarked to start later this year by the Bolton Council.

The works are set to place on Chorley New Road between the Crown Roundabout and the Beehive Roundabout.

The work is currently being tendered, meaning contractors are being invited to bid for the contract and the right to complete the work.

Therefore, at present, the council is not able to share any specific details about the scheme, however a spokesperson said that the work is “likely to commence” in either April or May this year.

“Bolton Council have placed the works out to tender, so they do not, at present, have construction dates agreed. As soon as they do, we will let you know.

“We all know this stretch of Chorley New Road is in a terrible state of repair and needs this resurfacing work done, I think we can all agree on that.”
