A former soldier has started a veteran’s support group to help with mental health and provide a safe space to talk.
Ryan Bamforth, from Horwich, has helped set the group up alongside Bolton Manbassadors.
The group will run a session every second Wednesday from 7pm to 8.30pm at the Brazley Community Centre in Horwich.
Ryan said: “Horwich and the wider borough of Bolton has a large veteran community, many of who suffer in silence.
“Soldiers by nature of who they are, hate asking for help, they are trained and designed to help others, and this is what makes our soldiers the best at what they do.
“Selfless commitment. This support group is a safe place where Veterans and Soldiers will be able to meet amongst their own to discuss old stories and new adventures and seek guidance and help where needed.

“It's with the help of Adam from Bolton Manbassadors that we are able to form this group.”
Ryan has previously slept on the streets for 48 hours as part of a personal mission to help veterans.
He undertakes the challenge every year around Remembrance Sunday.
Ryan, who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, left the armed forces in 2017.
