Two girls who are pupils at Bolton School Girls’ Division have been picked to play cricket at county level.

Lancashire County Cricket Club have chosen to select Shriya Pindoria, in Year 13, and Pippa Critchley, in Year Nine, for their upcoming squads.

Shriya has been selected for Lancashire Women's Under 18s cricket squad.

She has been playing cricket since a young age and currently plays for Ramsbottom under 18s and seniors.

Her selection means she will be required to join in with three hours of training on Fridays and Sundays in the closed season, which will increase to include matches and additional training in the summer.

Pippa has been selected for Lancashire's under 14s team. She currently plays for Bolton School’s girls’ cricket team.

Head of sport in the girls’ division, Kath Heatherington, said: “This is a great achievement for both girls, who have worked hard to get into the county squad.”
