Website, ilivehere.co.uk, has rated Bolton as the 34th worst place to live based apparently on the views of the town's residents.
Are these the reasons why?

It is situated in the stunning Le Mans Crescent which is often which TV and film producers love - switch on the television and you are bound to see the 34th worst place to live in the country.
- Nature and countryside
Bolton has many beautiful countryside areas and nature reserves including Rivington Pike, Moses Gate Country Park, Moss Bank Park and more.
Not quite sure if any other place in Greater Manchester has such stunning places on its doorstep.
- Theatres
The Octagon Theatre is the jewel in Bolton's crown
Offering amazing entertainment for residents from near and far, the Octagon definitely brings laughter, happiness and a fantastic time out for all to enjoy.
At just over 50 years old, the Octagon Theatre was one of the first theatres to be built in the North West since World War One and it has united hundreds and thousands of people who want to enjoy theatre in the heart of the town centre.
- Bolton is the new Hollywood
Famous actors flock to the town to film outside and inside the fantastic heritage buildings.
Bolton has seen the likes of Sylvester Stallone run up the town hall steps, Cillian Murphy take to Le Mans Crescent and even local shops and cafes featured in Happy Valley.
The beautiful buildings and surrounding areas are loved especially on the big screen.
- Events
Bolton is home to many fantastic events that bring in thousands each year.
Celebrity chef James Martin reckons Bolton Food and Drink Festival is the best in the world.
IronMan brings in people from all over the world.
Cllr Hilary Fairclough, Deputy Leader of Bolton Council said she loves Bolton in so many ways.
She said: “For me there are many reasons Bolton is the best place to live, and why I am very proud to be a Boltonian.
“It is not just that we have an award-winning market, museum, and theatre or that our Food and Drink Festival is the biggest event of its kind in Europe.
“Nor is it just the fact that Bolton is sought after by the films and TV world, or that we have a town rich in heritage that is sadly lacking in many other areas.
“We should not overlook our beautiful countryside, with moorland and open fields only 10 minutes away.
“But despite all this, I think the number one reason for me is the people of this town.
“We are blessed to have a rich mix of cultures, but we all have one thing in common, that we look after one another, and in my mother’s old saying: ‘kick one and we all limp’.
“I never cease to be amazed by the people in this town who always pull together and look after one another.
“Bolton isn’t perfect, which family is? But it’s the place I love and am so very proud to live in.”
But apparently these aren’t good enough for some people as people who voted in the ilivehere poll said Bolton is a ‘gloomville’.
One said: “I have witnessed some appalling places and sights in my 58 years, but with hand on heart, I have to suggest this post-industrial gloomville called Bolton and its surrounding waterlogged villages.
“They have to rank with some of the worst possible assaults on the eye and mind possible in Britain.”
Another said: “Don’t take my word for it, a trip to the town centre museum has old photos and paintings of what this place once resembled… a vision of hell.”
