Police say they carried out an 'unsuccessful warrant' on Monday after cordoning off an area of land near Radcliffe Primary School. 

A pond and field area behind Radcliffe Football Club and the school was cordoned off by police on Monday, blocking access to the public area.

Officers have not confirmed if the cordon was in relation to a stabbing in Little Lever, Bolton, on Sunday, which led to three cordons being set up, including one in Radcliffe.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said that the officers "carried out an unsuccessful warrant" but "no arrests" have been made.

Officers taped off the entrances to the area on Colshaw Close South, Stainton Close, and just off Coronation Road.

Police said the cordon had been in place since the early hours of the morning.
