A new bar and club with a unique twist will be coming to Bolton next month.

Element 51 will be opening on Nelson Square next month, adding to the nightlife options in the town centre.

The bar will have soundproofed six-person pods for revellers to play their own music, as well as a larger bar area where DJs can play.

There will also be a main room which will be used for club events, with BBC Radio 1Xtra DJ Charlie Sloth playing at its launch party on April 1.

Ikonic, and most recently Truth, are among the clubs that have previously occupied the unit where Element 51 will open.

The new nightspot will be run by Simon Kaden-Smith, who already runs bar Pink and club DLA in Burnley.

Simon said: “The nightclub industry, the same as hospitality, has changed considerably since Covid.

“However, we’re hoping with the Bolton venue to run it as two venues.

“We want to open it as a bar and a club. There will be more seating in the front room, the bar, and we’re looking to open it five nights a week.

“Then the main space at the rear will be the event space.”

He continued: “For the main room we’ve invested a lot of money into sounds, lighting and visuals, kind of like The Warehouse Project but more upmarket, with VIP rooms and a nice artists area.

“We’re going to have artists in once a month, as well as regular club nights.”

Simon continued: “One thing we’ve found over the last 12-18 months is people are now wanting a more personal experience where they can sit down and enjoy social time more.

“We’ve got four pods in individual rooms, they sit six people who have control over the lighting, such as making it flashing or a bit more calm.

“They will also have their own music system where they can play their own playlists through Bluetooth.

“But then you can step out into the bar, which will have DJs playing.”

Tickets are available for its launch party on Skiddle here.
