The cold snap is approaching next week as the Met Office warns of snow and ice for Bolton, so why not head out this weekend on a walk whilst you have the chance.

We've put together a list of the best walks with cafes in Bolton where you can go with your family this weekend.

Queen's Park

Situated in the centre of town, this beautiful park is the ideal spot for a nice walk before heading to the café for something delicious to eat.

A children's park is open to let the kids run off some energy, and a lovely cafe is open seven days a week offering drinks, ice cream, and a range of food.

There is also a soft play corner inside too and a duck pond.

Moss Bank Park

Moss Bank Park is beautiful for a family walk and lunch.

The huge park and play area are perfect for children and the surrounding greenery is popular among residents and dog walkers.

There are two different play areas, one for younger children and one for older children which includes a range of equipment.

The park also has a lovely cafe open daily from 9:30am to 4:30pm which is perfect to relax with a coffee or a hot chocolate.

Rivington Pike

Rivington is a firm favourite among residents across Bolton and beyond.

When at the top of the pike you can see for miles with views of Bolton, Blackburn, Chorley, and even on a clear day you can sometimes see Blackpool Tower.

Head back down the hill and enjoy a lovely lunch and cup of tea at The Great House Barn Tea Room and gift shop.

Or head to The Pike Snack Shack which opened during the Covid lockdown for a hot drink or a pastie.

Or head to Fika, situated close to the Pigeon Tower at the top of Rivington Terraced Gardens.

Fika opened its doors to the public in October 2022.

Jumbles Country Park

Jumbles Country Park is a beautiful walk four miles north of the town centre.

There are plenty of footpaths to choose from and a large reservoir to walk around.

Fancy a break after all the walking? Head to the Tea Garden Cafe for a quick coffee break.

Turton Tower

Head down to the iconic Turton Tower for a lovely walk around the woodland.

You can then stop at Turton Tower Woodland Cafe which has outdoor seating as well as inside seating.

Enjoy a lovely hot drink whilst breathing in the lovely breeze.

The cafe is open 10:30am to 4pm.
